Civilian at Riverfest

Now that I am reinventing Civilian, integrating what Civilian did as a graphic design and T-Shirt company into my personal art and teaching life, it seems natural to reconnect with my community and my old stomping ground.

At RIVERFEST, Sunday September 3th 2023, 11am-7pm (weather permitting) You will find Val and THESE POSTERS outside of Lisa Naples Pottery. (thank you, lisa) I think I found all of the digital files buried in hard drives throughout my studio. Maybe one or two are missing, but now most of them are here and are in POSTER FORM for you all to remember all of the great musicians, contests and just plain fun we had over the years.

There are many parts to Civilian’s history in Frenchtown. One of them is Civilian’s relationship to RIVERFEST. Ever since 2006, which I believe was the very first RIVERFEST, through to 2015, I designed the graphics and printed the t-shirts for most of the event’s inventive themes. These themes emerged mostly from the mind and imagination of our now passed friend, Cleo Sharplin.

These posters are printed on 110 lb text from the French Paper Company with an Epson ECOTANK using dye based inks. If you cannot get to RIVERFEST 2023 and would like a few posters, you can ORDER THEM HERE. They are shipped FLAT in cardboard inside a Clear Bag for protection.
