Over a Year Ago • now I am refining !

On this day, Monday, February 7th, 2022,

I am finally ready to open the virtual doors of

The Civilian School of Art !

After over a year of psychological warfare with teaching platforms, totally confusing excel databases, various email clients, lost earpods, dead iphones, microphones picking up the sound of air conditioners, lawn mowers and chainsaws, the occasional ‘Hey BABE!’ in the middle of recording a demo, Kidney stones - ugh - updating interfaces, the cancelling or the raising of any fee imaginable, unexpected monthly subscriptions needed to make everything actually work, power outages, forgetting to switch on the photo light during a really great segment of footage – still makes me want a drink - the death of my mother, unexpected police interventions and a bunch of temper tantrums that no one should be witness to - mostly no one was, thank goodness - not to mention my own inability to resist the seductive lure of my painting studio - which I must confess, I did NOT often feel the need to resist -  the pieces of this massive puzzle that hopes to eventually share a lifetime of artmaking skills through the lens of t-shirt production in a virtual platform has finally seemed to come together.

This launch makes accessible my first collection of sharable skills.

The Civilian School of Art will teach you some really low tech ways to make your own t-shirts, on your own terms, in your own space and on your own budget.
