Vintage Collages by Val Sivilli
The Delaware River had and still is a major character and influence on my work. In the mid 90’s, I created this group of collages. I used a variety of images, some from a local surveyor, Stan Norkevitch’s gorgeous surveys, photos from various fish markets and fish kills, images from the history of painting through Catholicism to express that particular point of view and a consistent dialogue of words, thoughts.. etc. There are a handful of these collages left in my studio.
Each are a different price, a bit of a different size. The collage/image size does not include the outer mat. The outer mat was hand colored by me with some cool pigments back in the day. The outer mats are pretty beat up and adding to the charm and provenance of the collages. They are, after all, almost 30 years old.
